This evening, amid thunder, lightning and extremely wet conditions, Corinna and Michael were very patient (and very photogenic) models at their wedding preshoot in Wharton Park, Durham. Together we produced some lovely images, a selected few of which are displayed here, and as a special bonus, Michael made a new furry friend (photos later!)

It was back to my first love on Sunday 7th June at the Sage, Gateshead. The occasion was an afternoon concert featuring the world famous Fairey Brass Band and special guest Patrick Zuk, the soloist in Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No 2. These images are from the first half of the concert. In the second half, Fairey Band were joined by the massed bands of Easington Colliery RMT Band and Kirkbymoorside Brass Band. Why no images of this part of the concert?- it's a little difficult to hold a tenor horn and photograph the rest of the musicians at the same time...the tenor horn won-sorry Canon!

Saturday was another beautiful day, and was the day chosen for their wedding preshoot by Leeanna and Ian, at the Britannia Airport Hotel. We had fun trying out poses (especially the "dance pose" - ask Ian!) and enjoyed the attention of the enormous stag party who had taken up residence in the hotel that weekend! Leeanna also showed her model potential in Jillian Dixon Photography's trademark "blue thing"...

Crab Manor, 28.05.09

Yesterday Jamie and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the marriage of Craig and Louise at Crab Manor, Thirsk. Louise had told me to expect something a little different, so I was really looking forward to the quirky and eclectic nature of the venue. I wasn't disappointed-probably the most unusual wedding venue I've ever seen! There were little surprises around every corner, and Jamie and I spent a wonderful hour capturing images before the wedding party had even arrived.


The day was perfect in every way-beautiful weather, beautiful, friendly happy people and perfect chips. (They should add that to the sign at the entrance!)
