First preshoot of the year!

Easter Sunday (yes Sunday Jamie! haha) brought the first of this year's wedding preshoots. We love to photograph couples in the run up to their wedding, getting them (and us) used to their style of posing and photography, and capturing some special pre wedding couple shots. Today we worked with Tammy and Anthony in the lovely surroundings of Durham's Palace Green. Both posed beautifully, as did Dylan, their King Charles spaniel. Thanks for a cool hour, you three!

Today I was pleased to be invited to Sarah and Ian's (very) full house to take some family photos. We spent a couple of hours creating some beautiful photographs using the gorgeous purple dining room as a backdrop- nice planning you two! Here are just a very few of what promises to be a wonderful set of images. Thanks everyone!

Family photoshoot

We were busy busy busy on Mother's Day. After visiting three mothers and an aunt, I spent the afternoon in Consett, taking some photos of my cousin's family for John's 21st birthday. I had a lovely time and a lovely cup of tea! Thanks Geoff and Ali and family and hope the "fire night" went well!

Rocco and Leo

Recently I met Rocco and Leo, whose Gran won a portrait sitting at the Boldon Banner Group fundraising event of last year. Cheeky little chaps, and very photogenic, I'm sure you'll agree!

Windows on the world

As I'm confined to the house with flu or something similar I've been trying to tidy and clear space on my hard drive (as I said in the previous post). I've found several things I'd forgotten. Some of which were these windows from a September wedding. I'm thinking of having them made into canvases for my staircase. Inspirational.

Only in the darkness can you see the stars.

Martin Luther King Jr

I've come over all philosophical while tidying my hard drive-where I found this image which I took at the beginning of "Perseid Night" last August. MLK Jr obviously didn't live in South Shields- five hours of freezing cold for two meteorites!

Silver award.

The snow did me a favour! I got my arty head on and took photos in and around the house, as seen in Snow Joke, below- and that photo was awarded Silver in the SWPP January photo competition, in the pictorial section. Best get arty again and go for Gold! Here it is again, in case you missed it.

Breast is best

I'm very proud and flattered to have a photo from a 2008 wedding featured in the La Leche League's 2010 calendar. Lindsay, one of my 2008 brides, who is a supporter of LLL, asked me to take a very special set of photos of her feeding her beautiful son, Will,on her wedding day. I was honoured to do so, and the photo has pride of place in this month's newsletter, and within the Breastfeeding Resource calendar.

Snow joke!

A foot of snow has kept me indoors this week-no fancy for lying on me tum in a snow-covered field! Hope to get out soon and brush up on my landscape skills. Also I'm itching to try out new portrait techniques, so just call for your family studio or lifestyle portrait session- £85 including a beautiful photobook.

Danielle and Adie

Saturday was another beautiful, sunny day in South Shields. It was also the wedding of Danielle and Adrian, and what a pleasure it was to photograph such a lovely, happy, bunch of people. Both families made us feel very welcome, and the most wicked best man of the year kept us all entertained all day! A day of kisses, hugs and wonderful people. Thanks for having us, and congratulations, Danielle and Adie.

I'm back!!!

After a long enforced absence, I'm back. I was coaxed back to wedding photography by my lovely friends Mark and Gill and photographed t...
